Many have asked why financial records are necessary in all cases and especially when there is no financial argument before the judge. As much as this is an invasion of privacy and evidence that is possibly never looked at by the judge to make his or her determination, it is a necessary evil.
In many cases the request to resent these items is a mere formally. Should you delay and withhold, it cost you your case and at the very least severely delay the proceedings and the judgment.
My best advice on finical discovery – disclose all that’s being asked and quickly. IF you know you’re entering into a family law case have ready pay stubs and taxes. They’re going to ask! Be prepared. As always, consultations are complimentary at James N Brown with Gregory Burdick, Family Law Attorney in West Palm Beach Florida.
